Kasey Kahne in the cab of his Goodyear Garage DodgeThe last of the four Goodyear Garage vehicles was unveiled at Kasey Kahne’s new race shop in Mooresville, NC on October 12, 2005. The pickup truck, which will be given away to one lucky fan, was at the center of a picnic held by Kasey’s fan club at his personal shop. On hand were Goodyear representatives, Jeff Kelderman – who designed the truck, Ronald McDonald, and of course NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne.

Kasey, with the help of Jeff Kelderman of Kelderman Air Ride, a premier truck builder, created a vehicle any race fan would love to have. The vehicle itself is a sharp looking 2005 Dodge Ram. The paint scheme offers a lot more than meets the eye. Although the truck is black, it has Kelderman-designed reflective graphics. Other features of this customized vehicle include: a lowering kit by Ground Force, 20” rims by American Racing, steel hood with cowl induction, Mopar performance ground effects kit, Borla exhaust kit, Leer tonneau cover, Kenwood flip-out DVD player with 7” monitor, and of course Goodyear Wrangler HP tires.

Greg Stucker of Goodyear Racing and Kasey Kahne presented a $25,000 check to Ronald McDonald House Charities representative, Ronald McDonald. Ronald McDonald House Charities supports programs that “directly improve the health and well being of children worldwide,” according to their mission statement. The teaming up of the Ronald McDonald House Charities and Evernham Motorsports driver Kasey Kahne was an easy decision says Kasey. “Evernham Motorsports and I have been part of Ronald McDonald House for a long time, so I thought it would work well with the Goodyear Garage. McDonalds is also one of our sponsors and we support the Ronald McDonald House,” he said.

Jeff and Ronald stand by the Goodyear Garage DodgeGoodyear Garage has previously given away three other vehicles designed by NASCAR stars Mark Martin, Ryan Newman, and Kevin Harvick. This promotion was created to get race fans closer to the track by bringing them an interactive station for those at the track that showed fans Goodyear’s 50-year racing history with NASCAR. In addition to the events at the track fans, could also learn more about Goodyear’s association with NASCAR by going online to www.GoodyearGarage.com. Racing enthusiasts can also bid online for driver memorabilia. Proceeds from auctions go to that drivers’ charity.

During this campaign, Goodyear has donated a total of $100,000 to three charities: Victory Junction Gang Camp, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and the Ryan Newman Foundation. Thousands of dollars have already been raised through the participating drivers’ Goodyear Garage online auctions. Registration for Kasey Kahne’s customized 2005 Dodge Ram began on October 12, 2005 and ends December 4, 2005. The online auction for Kasey’s memorabilia will begin November 18, 2005. For complete information on the online auctions and to register to win Kasey’s customized vehicle go to www.GoodyearGarage.com.

The interactive Goodyear Garage station will be at NASCAR’s final race, Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 20th, where the 2005 NASCAR Nextel Cup Champion will be crowned. Make sure you check out the many contributions Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has made to NASCAR racing during the last 50 years.
